Hapenzhongling Cross Road

Hapenzhongling Cross Road (哈盆中嶺越嶺道) was historically, during the Japanese occupation, a route for the army and local aboriginals.  The winding walking path goes from Fushan Village, Wulai, through Hapen tribe to Lunpi Village. It was an amazing two day hike. The trail has many obstacles and often is extremely tight overlooking several hundred feet cliffs. We camped with a makeshift tarp next to a river and enjoyed fresh fish dinner caught with a net. On the trail we picked plants to boil and eat as well. An excellent experience on the beautiful island of Formosa.

Tokashiki Island

There is nothing better than taking pictures when you have time to experiment with different types of shots. After riding my bike a few miles on Tokashiki Island, I came across Aharen Beach which was nearly deserted besides one fisherman. The island is just a short ferry ride away from the port in Naha, Okinawa. The following is a gallery of captures from my day exploring the island and its stunning coastline.
